Welcome and thank you for visiting our website : )
For most of us there are times when we need support to deal with difficult, emotional issues. Talking to family and friends can be very effective, but sometimes they can’t help and that may be because the issue feels too difficult to talk about. This is when recognising the need for and seeking professional therapy is a sign of strength and determination to live a productive, positive and meaningful life.
As counsellors and psychotherapists we provide a safe, supportive, empathic, non-threatening environment. With us you will feel able to talk freely in confidence and without fear of judgement. You will have the opportunity to explore feelings and create positive change for yourself.
We pride ourselves in being approachable so please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like further details to any aspect of our counselling and psychotherapy services.
Kerry & Caroline
About Kerry Williams and Caroline Sutton
Finding someone you can trust and feel at ease with is important, for this reason the quality of the relationship between counsellor and client is the key to successful therapy. I would be happy to speak to you by telephone which would provide you with the opportunity to ask any questions, explore what it is you wish to gain from therapy and to decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
Moving at your own pace I will work with you to deepen your self-awareness and feel more empowered in your life. I offer one to one sessions on a time-limited or long term basis.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling for Psychotherapy and work within their ethical framework. I undergo supervision with a qualified, experienced supervisor, have a current CRB certificate, and I am fully insured.
Training courses I have attended:
I am committed to my ongoing professional and educational development and attend regular training to broaden and deepen my practice. In addition I work with children and adolescents in my capacity as a School Counsellor and work for Local Authorites and Healthcare Organisations.
My practice is based in Cwmbran and has easy access to public transport and free on-site parking.
I believe that by understanding issues faced in life we can ultimately move forward with renewed and enriched perspectives. I am enthusiastic, caring and sensitive to others needs, and together we can explore ways that will help you find your own new pathway or direction to dealing with your situation. Working with you, I will help you to identify ways to find solutions to problems whilst developing your understanding of self-awareness and self-development.
If you have decided to try counselling, you might be feeling anxious about your first session. I would be happy to speak to you by telephone to answer any questions you may have.
I am a member of the National Counselling Society and work within their ethical framework. I undergo supervision with a qualified, experienced supervisor, have a current CRB certificate, and I am fully insured.

I am committed to my ongoing professional and educational development and attend regular training to broaden and deepen my practice. Prior to private practice, my career was working within the Local Authority, working with people of all ages, different social classes, cultures and ethnic and religious backgrounds. This provided invaluable experience in my understanding of the complexities and range of problems people can be faced with.
My practice is based in Magor and has easy access to public transport and free on-site parking.
About Counselling and Psychotherapy
“The first step to living the life you want, is leaving the life you don’t want. Taking that first step forward is always the hardest. But then each step forward, gets easier and easier. And each step forward, get you closer and closer. Until eventually, what had once been invisible, starts to be visible. And what had once felt impossible, starts to feel possible.” Karen Salmansohn
Counselling is the act of helping you, our client, to see things more clearly, or perhaps from a different viewpoint. It can highlight the way you are feeling and what you think about the problem you have sought help for. This can enable you to focus on your feelings, emotions, experiences, or behaviours, ultimately to help you make positive changes.
As your therapist we will aim to help and encourage you to trust yourself, make your own choices and find your own answers. In doing so, counselling can help you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, increasing your self-esteem and confidence and enabling you to live your life more fully.
Psychotherapy is where we encourage you, our client, to go back to your earlier experiences and explore how these experiences affect your current problem and how it is making you feel. In this way we help you to become aware of events which you were previously unaware of.
